Sugo Italian Pasta Bar: Authentic Italian Flavors in Santa Cruz

My husband and I came here for a nice dinner before my 10k race & to say it was excellent would be an understatement. This is a place we will come back to every time we come into town. It was like going to Italy all over again. I’m GF and they had SO many options. It was amazing. If I could eat here everyday for every meal, I would. Genuinely so obsessed. Not to mention we had amazing service that was incredibly attentive. Sugo- come to Vacaville California so I can give you all my money. What a wonderful meal!

Wonderful birthday lunch! We enjoyed our eggplant Parmesan and spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was homemade and very good. Great service. Patio was very cozy.

An incredibly cozy place. The food is absolutely delicious — I especially recommend the tiramisu. The waitstaff are very friendly, and the owners are genuinely wonderful people. Thank you, we will definitely come back again.

The calamari, was light and crunchy, and you could taste how they make their own aïoli sauce. We got the carbonara and seafood linguine for our entrees and they were so great and fresh! We will be back to try their “make your own pasta”.

A friend of mine had forgotten to mention a dietary restriction, but the team handled it so graciously — they replaced the dish to meet her needs without any extra charge. That kind of thoughtful service truly stands out. Highly recommend!

food was great, we got the carbonara and the lemon shrimp pasta special. Everyone is so nice and sweet and the drinks were great too! Got the lavender rosé and it was refreshing!

A truly delightful Italian dining experience! The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, and many of them were Italian, which added a wonderful touch of authenticity to the atmosphere. I ordered the spicy shrimp, and it was absolutely delicious. I requested a low-salt preparation, and the team was more than happy to accommodate. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the shrimp were generously portioned and perfectly cooked. I couldn’t resist trying dessert and went with the crème brûlée. It was the perfect sweet ending and did not disappoint.

Sugo is a delicious Italian restaurant in Santa Cruz! A great spot for lunch by the coast. The carbonara was delicious, and was based off a very rich creamy and perfectly seasoned sauce. The outdoor seating was cozy, the service was great, and a menu is definitely one that balances comfort and authenticity. I really loved the cocktail I had! I can’t remember the name - but it had lavender and sparkling wine and was perfect ! Overall, Sugo is a great find for anyone craving quality Italian food by the coast!
